its been long i never update this blog
first.. i screwed people like nobody's business

wake up in the morning, i am still wondering why parents are siting at the couch and not out to breakfast.

Continue my sleep, and i heard the house door is opening, there are few voices, ahh.. my neighbors are here.

today both right and left side of my neighbors big day, their festive of lights, their Deepavali.

and i already can feel the taste of muruku while i am still on the bed, its their famous snacks.. it sounds muruk muruk when you chew it

my parents didnt want to wake me up as i slept quite late the day before, but knowing the temptation of Deepavali feast, i couldn't resist and i wake and straight to the dining table..

there i tasted the tosai, one of their delicious food ever happened in the history

together with mutton.. and the curries.. it is a taste have to be tasted for every individual in the world

after the breakfast, i sat down on the couch to watch the tv, bang bang bang, the explosive of fire crackers.. its a norm to the malaysian that every time there's big festival, there will be fire crackers

soon before i realized, it was 12 in the afternoon, and there she came, another side of my neighbors, she's calling us to go to their house to have lunch

even though the morning foods haven't fully digested, the urge is still pulling me over, i cannot resist good food

there i sat on table, this time all served was the same as the morning one, except the taste is different, not to say this taste is better than that one, but.. both have their own taste and that were crazy tempting

you see, is all about food, there is something in food

soon after the lunch, i went out with my friends, as today is a public holiday, so yeah, normal outing, went to cybercafes all sort..

as i mentioned, i don't have enough sleeps, so i slept at around 4pm in the evening and woke up after i heard the knock knock on my door at 6pm.

"you must come, she wanted you to come" this is what my mom told me..

it's my another neighbor!!!

and all i think is about food as my stomach really really sounding..

the timing's is all right

i sat down on my neighbors table with my family

and i dine, this time i eat rice with chicken and mutton's curries

i love Deepavali, this is a day where i can tasted all these

its a day i am looking forward in every year

i hope that the world will still in a harmony time and getting more harmony in the next time

i am a cat, i was born with 2 siblings, unfortunately, both of them died, one fell down to the drain, another die of hungriness

when i was a baby, i have no place to go, except for the shady that humans built up

thankfully they always having some snack time under the tree and i always manage to get some of the leftovers

at first they don't care about me, but as time goes by, kids from the elders started to play along with me

seeing that i have no harm to the kids, the adults allow the kids to play with me

sometimes the adults would play with me too

one day, an auntie came to me, she pour some papers on the floor, i started to play along with the papers.. biting some of it, without realizing the paper has numbers written on it

there is this adult number game.. 4D or maybe "jackpot".. they bet the number i picked up, and eventually they won some prize from there.

they started to treat me real good, buying me cat biscuits, shower me with care and love

and there is this family who even allow me to loiter inside the house.. however i must get out when it was night for them to sleep

everybody started to like me and they even touch me, bath me.. what a cat am i

sometimes there would some male cats come and find me, i did entertain them as they were my cat families too

sometimes i felt pity for them as they do not get proper care and food

but anyway i do share my foods with them

i hope that this family will always keep me as a company

This was the reason some convicted rapists gave for their crime to two researchers who visited prisons to interview sexual predators. Their recently published book sheds some light on why Malaysian men rape.

EVERY day an average of four women are raped. But we don’t hear or read about most of the cases, only the sickeningly brutal ones involving a child or ending in murder or both.

The names and faces of victims like computer analyst Canny Ong, 28, abducted from a basement car park, raped, killed and set on fire; engineer Noor Suzaily Mukhtar, 24, raped in a bus by the driver who later strangled her with her tudung and children like Nurul Huda Ghani, five, abducted and killed by a security guard in a TNB station and Nurin Jazlin Jaziman, eight, sodomised and murdered, are etched in the public’s collective mind.

We tend to believe that rapists are shadowy strangers lying in wait of an unsuspecting woman. The reality is that most victims were raped by someone they know, a friend, former partner, even a relative. Even those trusted in authority like parents, policemen, religious leaders and community elders have been charged with rape.

Rape is riddled with myths. Many perpetuate the belief that women are raped because they entice men with their dressing or behaviour. Religious leaders and politicians have fanned such myths that turn the spotlight onto the victim instead of the criminal.

Dr Rohana Ariffin, retired associate professor of Universiti Sains Malaysia Penang, and her former student Rachel Samuel, currently a lecturer with UiTM Malacca, decided to focus their research on the rapist instead.

For 10 months in 2003, both women conducted interviews with 90 convicted rapists currently detained in four prisons in Seremban, Johor Baru, Kajang and Sungai Buloh aged 20 to 72. Each rapist was asked open-ended questions to solicit their perception and attitudes towards women, sexual history and experiences.

Their findings were published in a handbook, Rapist & Rape – Who & Why which was launched by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen last month. It is a follow-up on their earlier study in 1997 from interviews with rapists in Taiping and Penang.

“We hoped that an insight into their thoughts, feelings, perception and attitude would help reduce the number of rape incidents in Malaysia,” says Dr Rohana at a recent interview in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

“Our study offers a socio-economic profile of the rapists and understanding their family background. We wanted to know, what precedes their crime?”

She stresses that their research had limitations.

“We were only allowed to meet with each rapist once for two hours,” she says. “As such, our study only obtained some indicators of their background and reasons for committing rape. A psychological profile of the offenders would require more extensive interviews and research.”

Who, what...

From just 138 cases in 1980 to 912 in 1994, the number rose to 2,431 cases in 2006 and 3,177 last year. Between 2000 to 2006, Selangor and Johor recorded the highest numbers of rape while Perlis had the lowest number. For 2006, Selangor recorded 421 rapes and Johor 343.

These are just the known cases reported to the Royal Malaysian Police. Researchers believe there are numerous unreported cases of incest or acquaintance rapes.

Malays commited 66.3% of reported rape cases, followed by 15.3% by “others”, who are natives of Sabah and Sarawak and foreign workers comprising mainly Indonesians. Chinese are the perpetrators in 10.5% of the cases and Indians in the remaining 7.8%.

Many offenders are aged between 45 and 55. The most common types of rape they committed were incest and acquaintance rape. Ironically, 82% of respondents over the age of 50 raped girls aged 16 and below. The trend continues today with rape victims becoming increasingly younger.

The majority grew up in rural areas, including Felda schemes (71.1%), and had low education levels. Most are married and reported good relationships with their mothers but not their fathers. Their views concerning females are, in general, degrading and humiliating. They see rape as a sexual act rather than as a violent crime.

...Why

“They often cited, suka sama suka, meaning they believed it was consensual sex,” explains Dr Rohana. “Or they’d say, she was ripe for the plucking. One said the victim was manja (acting cuddly and pampered) with me. But that was the rapist’s granddaughter!

“Some believe rape is where force was used. So having sex with the victim isn’t rape to them. They are ignorant that rape is also caused by persuasion, coercion, manipulation and relationship power between an older person and a young victim.”

Indeed, some of the men convicted for date rape or statutory rape told the researchers that sex was consensual and it was the girls’ parents who reported them because they disliked the men’s low-income jobs.

The rapists also blamed pornography and uncontrolled lust as the main factors which caused them to rape. Only two of them said women were to blame but over 60% agreed that women were temptresses.

Asked why they did not turn to prostitutes to release their uncontrollable lust, the rapists replied that prostitutes were “repulsive” and “dirty”.

What was it like meeting 90 rapists face to face?

“I must admit it was depressing entering a prison, but we prepared ourselves mentally and emotionally each time we set off. We could not show our feelings and kept cool at all times,” says Dr Rohana.

“Even so, I could not help feeling heated during one interview. I raised my voice at a 60-year-old man who took his little granddaughter into a palm oil estate and raped her. Another said, Jika makanan sudah dihidang, kalau saya tak makan, lalat akan turun. Biar saya yang makan (If food is served and I do not eat it, the flies will come. Let me be the one who consumes it).

“Similarly, a 55-year-old who raped his teenage neighbour as his wife had reached menopause, stated, Nak tidur, bantal pun sampai, kita pun tidurlah (Want to sleep and the pillow is here. May as well sleep on it).

“It was hardest to speak to people who had abused their positions of power, like a religious head who raped the teenage girls volunteering to serve in the temple under the full trust of their parents.”

Samuel found most of the rapists forthcoming and willing to talk.

“Most said they didn’t use force to have sex,” she says. “A music composer convicted of statutory rape against his teenaged stepdaughter passionately declared, ‘I am a lover, not a killer!’.

“He said his stepdaughter is a ‘hot blooded teenager who needed to be taught the right way to enjoy sex’.”

Many of the men committed incest while their wives were in menopause, pregnant, or unavailable for sex. When the men couldn’t control their urges, they sought the easiest women they could find.

“Most of them had a propietary attitude of ‘she’s mine anyway’,” says Samuel.

Breeding ground

An interesting point unearthed was that the median age of the Malaysian rapist was 41.7, with incest rapists at 47 and date rape perpetrators at 37. In comparison, rapists in developed nations like the United States, 80% are below 30 and 75% under 25.

“In more developed nations we find younger perpetrators and stranger rape cases. With rapid urbanisation in Malaysia, will the category of rape and the origins of rapists shift due to the ‘overcrowded rat syndrome’, with younger men coming from high density flats and condominiums?” queries Dr Rohana.

She adds, “We are breeding a culture of poverty. People grow up resenting others and they transfer that aggression to the easiest victim they find. I hope our structure of housing can be more humane and not resemble pigeon holes in the sky. We need sustainable family planning especially among the low income group. Seldom do we find a sociologist on planning boards during development.”

Past president of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) Dr Tan Loke Mun disagrees that confined and crowded living quarters are breeding grounds for rapists.

“We don’t find an increase of rape in densely populated cities like in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan or Scandinavian countries where land is scarce and expensive,” he argues.

“Rape is due to moral decline in a society. More rapes happen in rural areas. (Ironically) imposing an unrealistic and totally inhibitive moral standard on people is more likely to turn them the other way. We may have parks for recreation but most are under-used. The old gathering spaces were parks, markets or piazzas. These spaces have evolved into shopping malls, cinemas, waterfronts and food and beverage outlets.

“Developers allocate a minimum of 10% of land into recreational space. But once it’s handed over to the local councils, that’s when you see deterioration.”

Urban decay

“Rape is a worrying trend although Malaysia still has a low rate compared with other countries,” says criminologist and Universiti Sains Malaysia’s School of Social Science lecturer Dr P. Sundramoorthy, adding that for the first time, crime was an agenda for the March 8 elections.

“A major contributing factor is urbanisation which has led to dramatic lifestyle changes. Our crime rate is a typical symptom of rapidly developing nations. We have seen more crimes in the last 20 or 30 years than in the previous century.

“As our population grows, we have more accessibility to information including sex materials. There is no conclusive research that pornography leads to rape, but a higher number of rapists tend to view it habitually so it is a contributing factor.”

Is there hope of rehabilitation for the rapist? The Malaysian Penal Code Section 376 states that offenders shall be punished with imprisonment of a term not less than five years and liable for whipping. Despite the severe punishment, many are recidivists or repeat offenders.

“Back in the mid-1990s I took some students to work on research on rapists. We were startled to see some of these men being caught for rape again after their release from prison,” says Dr Sundramoorthy.

“There have been calls to rehabilitate rapists, or to chemically castrate them as practised in some European nations. But research has shown that even with castration, the rapist still rapes habitually. What we need is to impose maximum jail time for even first-time offenders and not leave it at the whim and fancy of a judge.”

Teach respect

Despite years of progress and change, women are still objectified as commodities. They are still blamed for rape from the way they dress, talk or behave.

In June, Munirah Bahari, vice president of the National Islamic Students’ Association of Malaysia, caused a furore by stating that school girls’ white baju kurung was too sexy and lured rapists. Similarly, the Kelantan Government forbade women to wear coloured lipstick or high heels as these are deemed enticing to men.

Dr P. Sundramoorthy points out that the media is also fond of magnifying cases where attractive women are raped. It perpetuates the idea that only beautiful women get raped.

“Blaming women for rape is a worldwide phenomenon and not just in Malaysia,” he says. “Infants, the elderly and women from various ethnic groups and religions and in all shapes and sizes have been victims. Yet, people will continue believing that dressing sensuously will cause people to rape, or going out at 3am, or other stereotyping.”

While it is impossible to obtain zero rape as deviant acts can never be achieved, Dr Sundramoorthy says society can minimise the crime, starting with education from an early age.

“People must be aware of these social issues and men especially need this education,” he says. “We must start human social behaviour education from the age of 10. And boys especially must be taught to respect women.

“The age for statutory rape should also be raised from 16 to 18. Teenagers may be physically ready for sex, but are they mentally or emotionally prepared? The age for buying alcohol should also be raised to 21. There is no conclusive study showing alcohol is a cause for rape but directly or indirectly, alcohol accessibility has been a factor in many cases.”

Women themselves have a role to play.

“Some women also accept a patriarchal system in society,” explains Dr Rohana. “They are trained from young to believe that they have to be gentle, sweet and submissive. A man rapes a woman as a way of putting her in her place.

“Additionally, our capitalist economy sells women as the weaker sex. In a conservative society, the victim is blamed. But women cannot be responsible for men’s actions! If a shoplifter is caught, do we blame the merchandise for looking too attractive?”

Adds Samuel, “In conclusion, rape is mainly a question of unequal power relations and a distorted perception and attitude towards gender or women.”

Sometimes, it takes a big loss to remind us how much we have, and how much we should appreciate it while we have it.

RECENTLY, my friend lost her father. I stared in disbelief at the receiver in my hand as I digested the news, hoping that it was just a bad joke but it was not.

Memories came flooding back of the time I lost my beloved grandfather, two years earlier.

He had gone for a heart bypass operation after complaining of chest pains.

I remember watching him pack his clothes, getting ready to be sent to the hospital. He walked out of the house together with my father and got into the car.

I did not know then that he would not be coming home.

The day before the operation, my mother had to feed him his dinner. It was the first and last time she fed him as that was also to be his last meal.

On the morning of the operation, we all went to the hospital. I remember that it was a gloomy Friday morning and school was closed for a holiday.

When we reached my grandfather’s ward, he was prepared but looked nervous and worried.

We accompanied him as he was pushed to the operating theatre and said our goodbyes but my father told us to say “see you later” instead. I did not think that it made any difference then.

Later in the evening, we visited him in the intensive care unit (ICU) ward after the operation. He was hooked up to various tubes and life support machines and he looked so frail and weak.

We had to take turns to see him. We went home in the hope that he would be in a stable condition the next day.

The next morning when we visited him, he was conscious but in so much pain. He fidgeted so much and struggled to take out the oxygen mask to talk to us. He was told to rest and was later sedated.

Over the next few days, we spent our nights and days in the hospital as he had to undergo more operations to his stomach and kidney due to some complications.

My grandfather was always a strong man, mentally and physically. He fought hard to live and he survived the two operations.

We felt helpless and had only words of encouragement everyday. “You can do it, stay strong,” we encouraged him.

When we were told that his chances of survival were slim, our relatives from Penang and Singapore came to visit him.

In the early hours of Oct 27, 2006, the dreaded call rang from the hospital. We had to rush to see him for the last time.

My grandfather lay there, so still and pale next to the machines. His fingers were swollen and the tips were black.

As we stood by his side, holding his unresponsive hands, rivers of tears flowed. We told him that he could still do it, to stay strong and we filled him with encouraging words to live.

However, in that moment of truth, we realised that we had to end his suffering. It was time to release him and the encouraging words were not the words he waited to hear.

He was always a proud man with strong principles and always fought for his rights. We knew he was losing the battle due to his heart.

He knew, too, that had he lived on, he would not be the same man who would be on his own two feet with his head held high.

He also loved us too much for us to be burdened with a bed-ridden, dependent, old man.

We finally relented and told him, “We will understand this most difficult decision that you have to make and we love you just the same. We apologise for any wrongdoings on our part and we forgive you, too.”

We told him to give us a sign if he could hear us and miraculously, a tear rolled down from his eyes. There were no last words but we understood. Minutes later, at 6.40am, he left us, looking relaxed and peaceful.

We do not know when our loved ones will leave us. As teenagers, we will often have arguments with our siblings or our parents, but no matter what, they still love us and we still love them. Therefore, we have to leave our loved ones with loving words, always.

My grandfather is gone but his memories lives on. He was not a wealthy man but he left behind a precious gift — Life, with a new beginning and new meaning.

From him, I learned to understand life better, to cherish what I have and to treasure the people around me.

So as long as you can work from now, go for it, find the bestest opportunity in a fastest legal way, work smarter, work harder

because you know only you have the chance to do this, its not your parents era anymore, its your world, its your time, its your bestest start

if you want to count it on your siblings, are you sure they will able to give this? are you even they can give, they will give? are you sure you won't feel guilty?

Blast from the past: WWII bomb detonated

IPOH: The World War II bomb found at Sungai Pinji, Tambun, near here had to be detonated twice before it was completely destroyed.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias said the first attempt by the bomb disposal unit at 10am only destroyed a part of the bomb.

“After the smoke had cleared from the site, we noticed it was still intact.

“In the second attempt 50mins later, we successfully destroy the bomb,” ACP Azisman told reporters near the blast site immediately after the operations on Saturday.

No one was injured and nothing had been damaged, he said.

ACP Azisman said the bomb was believed to have been made by the British during the war.

“It could have been dropped during the war to blow up the bridge in Tambun near here,” he said. The remaining pieces of the bomb would be kept at the Tambun police station as a souvenir, he said.

All roads leading into Tambun had been cordoned off by 7am on Saturday, while residents staying within a 500m radius were evacuated to two army camps and the Tambun Mosque.

All returned to normal at 12.30pm after ACP Azisman had given the green light.

Old bomb to be detonated Saturday

IPOH: Police will detonate the 450kg World War II bomb found at Sungai Pinji, Tambun, near here at 11am tomorrow.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias said a team of bomb experts from Bukit Aman would detonate the bomb at the site where it was found.

“As a precaution, people staying within a 500m radius of the site will have to leave their homes by 8.30am,” he said yesterday, adding that some 5,000 people would be affected by the exercise.

Live explosive: It is too risky to move the bomb elsewhere for detonation.

Speaking at a news conference here, ACP Azisman said residents from Taman Tambun, Taman Tambun Jaya, Kampung Baru Tambun and Kampung Malay Reserve would be affected.

“They just need to lock up their houses and leave until it is safe for them to return,” he said, adding that the entire operation was expected to be completed by 2pm.

The residents could wait at two army camps and the Tambun Mosque at Jalan Tambun.

“I will make an announcement to inform the people when it is safe for them to return,” he said, adding that all roads leading to the site would be closed from 7am.

Shielding function: Ipoh City Council workers preparing sandbags at Sungai Pinji, Tambun where the World War II bomb will be detonated.

For those without transport to go to the shelters, ACP Azisman said transport would be provided.

“Announcement on the pick-up points will be made at the affected housing schemes,” he added.

To a question, ACP Azisman said police had no choice but to cordon off the area for detonation as it was too risky to remove the bomb and detonate it elsewhere.

“The bomb is considered active,” he said, warning those who refused to leave their houses tomorrow would be arrested.

working hard for whole day probably just earn a dollar
under the sun, using bare hand, prone to disease, and lack of nutrition
while some children in the world, gets to school, sleeping in the air-con room, getting the latest gadget, wearing the finest cloths, eating the finest dishes, and play whatever they wanted to play

for adults, struggling with work stress, coping with the life, frustrating over money, have to take care of the children with hard work, working several jobs from day to night, having to work even they reach 70
while some adults never need to get to work, clubbing drinking every night, shopping all day long, eating the finest, clothing the finest, hold big post without hard work, corruption, traveling, enjoying the life without money worries, driving the big car, living in the big house, having maid to keep up everything

if we needed to put everything in the world to average.. from the latest technology in the world, compare to the world's poorest, it will probably will make us back to the time when telephone just invented.. would u be living that life? for everyone's reading this, that means they have a computer, they sure strongly disagree.. how about for those poorest city in India?.. they would think it would be heaven!

someday, i just hope a meteorite come and blast the earth, make every thing's to the end, end all of the suffering in the world

KUALA LUMPUR: Cigarettes manufacturers are banned from using words such as “lights”, “ultra lights”, “low tar” or “mild” on their packaging.

Promotion sales of cigarettes are also disallowed and, as such, display of words like “promotion”, “promo”, “discounts” and “limited edition”, are prohibited.

Sale of cigarettes with other items, such as lighters, is also banned.

Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said this following the amendments to the Control of Tobacco Products Regulations 2004, approved by the Cabinet in January.

He said the number of smokers went down by only 2% after the introduction of the Tak Nak campaign in 2004, a situation he described as unsatisfactory.

“This is one of our measures to bring the figure down and we are also looking at other methods, including increasing cigarette prices,” he said after launching the National Celebration of World No Tobacco Day 2008 here yesterday.

Tobacco companies have six months to get rid of old stock that did not meet the new requirements.

“By Dec 1, all cigarette boxes must also carry pictorial health warnings, which will occupy 40% of the front display panel and 60% of the back.

“According to the third National Health and Morbidity Survey (2006), 2.73 million people are smokers, who puff away 33 million sticks daily,” he said, adding that the group spends RM8.59mil daily on the habit.

In George Town, CAP called on the Federal Government to raise the minimum age for buying tobacco products from 18 to 21 in a bid to reduce smoking among teenagers.

Erik Youngdahl and Michelle Garcia share a dorm room at Connecticut's Wesleyan University. But they say there's no funny business going on. Really. They mean it.

They have set up their beds side-by-side like Lucy and Ricky in "I Love Lucy," and avert their eyes when one of them is changing clothes.

"People are shocked to hear that it's happening and even that it's possible," said Youngdahl, a 20-year-old sophomore. But "once you actually live in it, it doesn't actually turn into a big deal."

In the prim 1950s, college dorms were off-limits to members of the opposite sex. Then came the 1970s, when male and female students started crossing paths in coed dormitories. Now, to the astonishment of some Baby Boomer parents, a growing number of colleges are going even further: coed rooms.

At least two dozen schools, including Brown University, the University of Pennsylvania, Oberlin College, Clark University and the California Institute of Technology, allow some or all students to share a room with anyone they choose — including someone of the opposite sex. This spring, as students sign up for next year's room, more schools are following suit, including Stanford University.

As shocking as it sounds to some parents, some students and schools say it's not about sex.

Instead, they say the demand is mostly from heterosexual students who want to live with close friends who happen to be of the opposite sex. Some gay students who feel more comfortable rooming with someone of the opposite sex are also taking advantage of the option.

"It ultimately comes down to finding someone that you feel is compatible with you," said Jeffrey Chang, a junior at Clark in Worcester, Mass., who co-founded the National Student Genderblind Campaign, a group that is pushing for gender-neutral housing. "Students aren't doing this to make a point. They're not doing this to upset their parents. It's really for practical reasons."

Couples do sometimes room together, an arrangement known at some schools as "roomcest." Brown explicitly discourages couples from living together on campus, be they gay or straight. But the University of California, Riverside has never had a problem with a roommate couple breaking up midyear, said James C. Smith, assistant director for residence life.

Most schools introduced the couples option in the past three or four years. So far, relatively few students are taking part. At the University of Pennsylvania, which began offering coed rooms in 2005, about 120 out of 10,400 students took advantage of the option this year.

At UC Riverside, which has approximately 6,000 students in campus housing, about 50 have roommates of the opposite sex. The school has had the option since 2005.

Garcia and Youngdahl live in a house for students with an interest in Russian studies. They said they were already friendly, and didn't think they would be compatible with some of the other people in the house.

"I had just roomed with a boy. I was under the impression at the time that girls were a little bit neater and more quiet," Youngdahl said. "As it turns out, I don't see much of a difference from one sex to the other."

Garcia, 19, admitted: "I'm incredibly messy."

Parents aren't necessarily thrilled with boy-girl housing.

Debbie Feldman's 20-year-old daughter, Samantha, is a sophomore at Oberlin in Ohio and plans to room with her platonic friend Grey Caspro, a straight guy, next year. Feldman said she was shocked when her daughter told her.

"When you have a male and female sharing such close quarters, I think it's somewhat delusional to think there won't be sexual tension," the 52-year-old Feldman said. "Maybe this generation feels more comfortable walking around in their underwear. I'm not sure that's a good thing."

Still, Feldman said her daughter is partly in college to learn life lessons, and it's her decision. Samantha said she assured her mom she thinks of Caspro as a brother.

"I'm really close to him, and I consider him one of my really good friends," she said. "I really trust him. That trust makes it work."

Hawaiian sovereignty seekers take over palace in Honolulu

HONOLULU (AP): A Native Hawaiian group that advocates sovereignty locked the gates of a historic palace in downtown Honolulu, saying it would carry out the business of what it considers the legitimate government of the islands.

State deputy sheriffs were not allowing anyone else to enter Iolani Palace grounds Wednesday as unarmed security guards from the Hawaiian Kingdom Government group blocked all gates to the palace, which is adjacent to the state Capitol.

The group said it learned from Honolulu Police Chief Boisse Correa that arrest warrants were being prepared for the 60 or so protesters and would probably be served later in the day. Police have not confirmed that to The Associated Press.

Protest leaders said they were prepared to be arrested and would go peacefully.

Protest leader Mahealani Kahau said the group does not recognize Hawaii as a U.S. state. Supporters planned to keep the protest peaceful and if evicted would return later, she said.

The group is one of several Hawaiian sovereignty organizations in the islands, which became the 50th U.S. state in 1959. The ornate Iolani Palace is operated as a museum. Hawaiian King Kalakaua built it in 1882, and it also served as the residence for his sister and successor, Queen Liliuokalani, the islands' last ruling monarch.

It was neglected after the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893 and restored in the 1970s as a National Historic Landmark. It includes a gift shop and is open for school groups and paid tours.

"The Hawaiian Kingdom Government is here and it doesn't plan to leave. This is a continuity of the Hawaiian Kingdom of 1892 to today,'' said Kahau, who was elected head of state of the group seven years ago.

The protesters are not damaging anything in the palace grounds, Kahau said. Workers inside the palace itself had locked the doors and were not letting them inside.

"We will not resist, we won't fight, we won't be aggressive. But we'll be back for sure,'' Kahau said.

No matter what happened Wednesday, the protesters planned to return to the palace Thursday, she said.

State Sen. Kalani English _ a Native Hawaiian and a Democrat from East Maui-Lanai-Molokai _ came over from the Capitol to speak with some of the protesters, and had his staff take them food.

"This is the manifestation of the frustration of the Hawaiian people for the loss of sovereignty and land,'' English said. "It is symbolic. This made a statement. It got the word out about the plight of the Hawaiian people,'' he said.

Richard Kinney, who described himself as an independent Hawaiian nationalist, said he went to the Capitol to show his support. He carried an upside-down Hawaii state flag, signaling distress.

"The sovereignty of these islands is inherent to the Hawaiian people, and we've never relinquished that,'' he said.

"Occupying any land, including Iolani Palace, is the beginning,'' Kinney said.

Kippen de Alba Chu, executive director of Iolani Palace, issued a statement that said the protesters delivered a written message to palace officials claiming the grounds as the seat of their government.

"While we respect the freedom of Hawaiian groups to hold an opinion on the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, we believe that blocking public access to Iolani Palace is wrong and certainly detrimental to our mission to share the palace and its history with our residents, our keiki (children) and our visitors,'' Chu said.

Let say i divide them to 4 age categories, 0-20 , 20-40, 40-60, 60-80

And let say only ages from 20-60 will have sex, so that means half of the population will have sex and half of them wont. 6400,000,000/2 = 3200,000,000

3200,000,000 X 0.4286 = 1,371,520,000

1,371,520,000 people will have sex each DAY

In a day, there are 86,400 seconds..
1,371,520,000 / 86,400 = 15,784

HORTON HEARS A WHO
Its a cartoon animation actually, but don't you judge it saying its for children, its a must see movie for everyone, this movie is all about the possibilities of people.. this movie really opens up mind and let us imagine

Let me briefly talk about the storyline

Its about an elephant who've found a speck(tiny little white dust) while he was on his normal day, this elephant who happened to hear some sound in the speck and started to realize there are actually living thing inside the speck, inside the speck, it was like another world(a world just like us) and to the world of this speck, it was just a speck for an elephant.. and you can imagine the world of elephant also will become a speck of other world..

I know its real confusing, but is good if u get what i mean, if u interested or still not sure what actually im talking out here, please, step to the cinema, u will nvr regret, but if u do not, u will regret

Why do i say it open up our mind, this make us think like, maybe our entire galaxy, actually its just a small bacteria for the other world.... maybe there are humans which is bigger than our galaxy 10000000000000x times.. its crazy you see... but anyway.. anything could be possible, so there are actually some meaning in our lives :)

my school started and i cudnt find much time for blogging

i gotta really truly madly deeply concentrate on my studies now

BLACKOUT
last week my house had a blackout
it happened jz right after i start my dinner.. alone.....
can u imagine?.. candlelight dinner is good la.. but dinner without light.. OMGzzz..

but im a brave person.. ntg can stop me.. have my dinner in the dark.. so nice sooo good.. readers.. dun try k.. i dun wann anything happen to u all
one more weird thing has happened.. its a blackout.. but this is what i saw..

dun scared.. no worries.. theres is no ghost.. there is ntg
and it cud really happen to u too next time during ur blackout
it is actually the electric is not completely cut off, so it will have little flow and u can on other small electrical application..
but i advise.. dun do that.. try to think this way.. ur electrical stuff is a small stuff.. if suddenly the main electric is back.. there will be a great rush of electricity.. and it could really spoil ur electrical stuff.. so take tis precaution so u will save another penny for other thing~~

How can such driver be allowed in the road, and given responsibility to carry so many people, such incident continued and continued from moments to moments, usually involving drivers with lots summonses

A group of victim's friends has set up a website which require people to make the difference, signature it and they will send it to the transportation ministry in malaysia, in hoping immediate and more safety measure would be taken in hiring bus drivers

Currently there are only 4k++ people have signature it, thats not enough, their target is 26k

while i was at outside with family today,
i saw a group of people around 20-30 people grouping under the tree
their hands holding some banners and words cloth
all were written in chinese
f.y.i, i dont know how to read chinese so i just stood there and takin pictures
and there are some leaders there, the 1st leader started to speech
it was in malay language, and i started listening as i am well in malay language
actually they've call the media to listen to the speech and to take pictures of the banner
it was actually about issue of lack of primary chinese schools in Ipoh
from what i heard, they said government MCA has promised them lands, schools all of those but they didnt do as promised, instead the land is build on other things, the money allocation was on other things
so this group of DAP members(its a society) got angry and do something for Ipoh citizen, that is going to the media
p/s: all i wish is our country wont involve in high political risk
